 Rob Jones' Biography

One of the most gifted, resilient and clever talents ever launched into orbit, Rob Jones “The Creator” blazes the trail for the continued evolution of contemporary R&B and Hip-Hop music.

Raised in Chicago’s Robert Taylor Homes (a local housing project) by his father and mother with three brothers and a younger sister, Rob was struck by a gang member’s stray bullet at ten years of age. It entered into his left temple and exited through his lower right temple causing him to lose sight immediately.
After hospitalization and with the help of No Dope Express Foundation,
a non-profit organization with an "off-the-streets approach" toward
youth and inner-city violence, Rob began to adjust to a new lifestyle.

While elementary school afforded the opportunity to learn classical, jazz, blues and contemporary R&B piano styles, secondary school presented an opening to study traditional vocal lessons in the school’s chorus. Rob's ability to balance extra-curricular activities and maintain the banner "ladies’ man" gained him the title Prom King at Senior Prom. After high school graduation, the piano and vocal scholar attended Columbia College Chicago and received a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in music composition.

Rob initially strived to become a noteworthy rap artist (although he knew he was skilled at singing at an early age). With encouragement from the
maiden peers in his life and his brother, Jones composed and recorded
an original R&B ballad.

Convinced that he had inherited his musical flair from father Raymond Fox (who was known for singing with live bands throughout Chicago), this soon to be Phenom of Entertainment began to hone his performance skills at open mic sets after completing college. Performance locations include the Cotton Club in Chicago, A Touch of the Past in Bellwood, and Checkerboard Lounge in
Hyde Park. Rob’s desire to expand his audience worldwide landed him a visit to Atlanta, GA where a series of open mic gigs were set into motion.
Beholding good and acceptable responses from consumers,
Rob gave in to the voice that beckoned him to sojourn to the ATL.

Since residing in Atlanta, Jones has been embraced by some of the music industry’s movers and shakers such as Mario, 112, T-Pain, Rihanna, and Mya along with Ne-Yo and the Compound Family, to name a few.
“I remember playing my eight song demo CD for Ne-Yo and his manager while we were out on the town for a night. Both gentleman esteemed my vocal and production style and jammed to my music all the way through,” says
the polished singer, songwriter and producer.

Rob Jones “The Creator” admires the entire Motown family especially
Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Jones also commends the artistry of Babyface, Rick James, Teddy Riley and Prince.
“I would like to one day say that I worked closely with and was mentored by
the great Quincy Jones, Prince and Timberland,” reveals the triple threat.

Rob’s heightened awareness of sound helps him create vibrant, colorful music abounding with life and ambition. Two of Jones’ most immediate goals are to enjoy Billboard chart-topping songs and to become a
Grammy Award winner/nominee.

In an issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, Rob Jones is mentioned to have a permanent spot on Oprah’s list of unforgettable guests. Within fifteen years, Jones has made three appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and was able to display his musical talents during the second appearance.

Philanthropy and motivational speaking has played an important role in
Rob’s endeavors. When asked to delight the public with an appearance,
he delivers a few inspirational songs and then attests to the challenges
of being blind, endorses gun violence awareness and voices his indescribable feelings of jubilee, peace and triumph.

Experiencing Rob Jones' music is a timeless movie that is sure to be one of
longevity and amazement.

Fans can look forward to Rob's debut single
“Do You See" this Spring.
